Augustana Lutheran Church of Andover was built in the 1860’s when the faithful congregation of Swedish immigrants quickly outgrew the nearby Jenny Lind Chapel. We are extremely proud of our ‘Cathedral on the Prairie’. Please explore our website to learn more. Then come and join us to experience first-hand the Church and the members who serve here.

Readings for the Week: September 17th – September 23rd
Joy of Christmas – December 3rd, 2025 at 7:30 pm
All are welcome for this community service hosted by Augustana College’s Campus Ministries. Attendees are invited to gather in the sanctuary of Augustana Lutheran Church for beautiful music and the reading of the Christmas story. The worship will conclude with a walk to the candle lit, historic Jenny Lind Chapel for Holy Communion and Christmas carols. Communion will also be provided in the sanctuary for those unable to make the walk to the chapel. Following the service, stick around for a time of fellowship, hot chocolate, and cookies in Luther Hall.
Gingerbread Bash, Advent Soup Supper, and Andover Christmas Walk – December 7th, 2025 starting at 4 pm
Join us for a festive afternoon and evening!
4pm-5pm Come as a family to hear the Christmas story and build a nativity.
5pm-7pm Stick around or come at 5pm for a soup supper celebrating the season of advent. In conjunction with the Andover Christmas walk, we’ll have activities, photo opportunities, and crafts to jump in on. All are welcome!
Christmas at Augustana Lutheran Church
Christmas Eve Family Service at 4:00 pm on December 24th, 2025
Gather in our festively decorated sanctuary to experience the Christmas Story shared by our Sunday School kids. The service will include the children’s Christmas program, holy communion, and some favorite hymns, including a candlelit rendition of Silent Night.

Join us in the candlelit Jenny Lind Chapel for an intimate worship with Holy Communion. As we gather in the dark and quiet night, we remember that it was in such an unassuming way that the savior of the universe entered the world.
